RONA+ celebrates the conversion of the RONA Home & Garden store in Waterdown

Today was the grand opening of the RONA+ Waterdown store

11 RONA+ stores in Ontario celebrate the first anniversary of the banner with the community

Boucherville, Québec, August 1, 2024 – RONA inc., one of Canada’s leading home improvement retailers operating and servicing some 425 corporate and affiliated stores, celebrated today the grand opening of the RONA+ Waterdown store located at 52 Dundas Street East in Dundas, Ontario. The RONA Home & Garden store was converted to new RONA+ banner as announced in May 2024.

The conversion of this Big Box store is another step towards RONA’s goal of improving the way Canadians shop for their construction and home improvement projects.

During the conversion process, RONA+ Waterdown was modernized to provide an enhanced shopping experience for customers. Improvements include the redesign of the fashion plumbing, seasonal, cleaning products, electrical, flooring, paint, and appliances departments. There are also several brand expansions, including a new Dewalt shop in shop targeted to the pro customers, a new Bouclair shop in shop to help with project finishing touches, and a new Landon & Co Kitchen program. The store also introduces a broader selection from brands such as Starfrit, Ninja, Shark, Hoover and Bissell.

“What we're celebrating today is not only the completion of the conversion, but also the hard work and collaboration between in-store teams, support teams and our vendor partners to achieve the shift of a RONA Home & Garden into a RONA+,” said J.P. Towner, President and Chief Executive Officer of RONA inc. ”Their joint efforts have enabled us to transform the store to bring forward key concepts to offer our customers the products and service they're looking for.”

First anniversary of the RONA+ banner

To mark the arrival of the RONA+ banner in Canada one year ago, 11 stores in Ontario, including in Windsor, Windsor East, Sarnia, Waterloo, Kitchener, Cambridge, Niagara Falls, Brantford, Hamilton, Ancaster, and Burlington, celebrated the banner’s first anniversary by welcoming new shop-in-shops, just like the Waterdown store. “Our customers really appreciate this innovative concept, and we wanted to highlight the incredible journey we've made since launching RONA+ last year by offering this other 'plus' to consumers in these regions,” concluded Towner.
