Children's Miracle Network and Opération Enfant Soleil

At the RONA Foundation, we are committed to making a difference in the communities we serve and where our associates and their families live. Now more than ever, we also know how relevant and necessary it is to support hospitals and health services across the country. That’s why we have supported, for a sixth consecutive year, the work of 13 children’s hospitals across Canada through our partnership with Children's Miracle Network and Opération Enfant Soleil. We want to help offer advanced care to sick children in Canada and support their families.

Real-life kids behind this year’s campaigns

Our 2023 campaign, benefitting these two organizations, took place from March 27 to May 5, 2023, in our participating Lowe’s, RONA, and Réno-Dépôt stores from coast to coast, as well as online. All funds raised were given directly to the 13 children’s hospitals in the province where they were collected. This year’s campaign shined a spotlight on Lexie’s and Janessa’s courage.

Meet Janessa and Lexie

Janessa, 14 years old, ambassador of the Children’s Miracle Network campaign

At the age of seven, Janessa was diagnosed with kidney failure. In November 2020, she underwent a successful kidney transplant. Today, her situation is stable and with donor-funded support and innovation from her care team, Janessa can now get ongoing check-ups remotely and thus return to live in her community.

Lexie, 8 years old, ambassador for the Opération Enfant Soleil campaign

Lexie has spinal muscular atrophy, a degenerative disease that attacks the nerve cells. Treatments are essential. In fact, they helped stabilize little Lexie’s condition. It is because of the solidarity and generosity of people that she can benefit from care adapted to her condition.

Thanks to the dedication of our employees and the generosity of our customers, our network of corporate and affiliated dealer stores was able to present a collective total close to 6 million dollars!

This contribution will help thousands of children across the country through the 13 hospital foundations supported.

Opération Enfant Soleil

To support Opération Enfant Soleil’s mission, Quebec residents could purchase tickets for a chance to win the Maison Enfant Soleil house named after Lexie in our participating RONA and Réno-Dépôt stores, as well as on our rona.ca and renodepot.com websites.

We are proud to, once again to be the official supplier of building materials for the house. Thanks to the generosity of many of our suppliers, we were able to maximize our sponsorship and achieve a value of more than $130,000!

The RONA Foundation's support to Children’s Miracle Network demonstrates well that donations not only help children, but their families too.

‘‘After her family moved to be closer to the care Janessa needed, the children’s hospital team not only helped my daughter Janessa, but also allowed our family to return to our First Nations community in Pukatawagan. By supporting children’s hospitals, you’re not just supporting children, you’re helping entire families,’’ said her mother Brenda.

Each donation in stores or online helps support some 2.6 million children like Janessa.
